Hi

when the phpBB 3 based phpBB plus release ?

or is there any convertor to convert phpbb plus 1.5 to phpbb 3 ?

I've decided to make the move to the reliable phpbb3.
and I'm hoping someone will create a converter or conversion guide to convert phpbb plus 1.5 to phpbb3.

I'm not all that interested in seeing phpbb3 because it'll take to long, and I've had so many problems with phpbb1.53a and there has been so little support compared to the official phpbb forums.

I'm hoping you can create a converter which converts the entire forum including sub-cetogories and It should convert the features of PHPBB Plus1.5 that are in PHPBB3.

and for those that aren't in phpbb3 the option to install the currently available mods for phpbb3 such as Smartor EzPortal, Photo Album!

Hopefully someone can create one.
It's a really big hassle converting to phpbb2 and then to phpbb3 and there is the problem of losing the portal data and stuff like that. As well as re-arranging forum categories and such.

There's already 3 portals out there:

1) www.phpbb3portal.com <-- Eh, nothing special
2) www.phpbbireland.com/phpBB3/portal.php <-- Nice
3) http://[censored].xs4all.nl/plusxl40/portal.php <-- Really nice (most additioanl functions ATM)

I doubt that we will see a plus conversion or a plus 3 anytime soon (say within the next 6 months). I hope I'm wrong but we will see.

I think we all need to demonstrate some more interested and then someone would be willing to make a conversion tool and/or documentation!

As I wrote here, here and here I am looking for such a convertor too but until now, there is no usefull answer.
As madness.productions wrote we should work together and hope that the power of many users will let someone create such a convertor.

I'd love to help but, i don't even know where to start.

I think making a tool to convert plus to bb3 easily is the best help !

and then someone with the knowledge will find this thread and help since there are so many interested people.

I still wouldnt get our hopes up.

That happend to be one of the best portals out there ATM. It's listed on my site.

Is super portal another Portal system that I don't have on my list?

Lol, no I mean the one behind your censored url. It takes quite a long time to open compared to a phpbb plus1.53a forum.

This will be normal on every new installed MOD because the integrated caching system have to cache the new pages and SQL queries.
Once cached, it should be faster than at the beginning.
Please have a look on the performance a few hours/days until everything has been cached and tell us the result once again.
