I need something that does the opposite I have a phpbb 2 forum and I want to put the content of that forum into my phpBB Plus 1.5 how do I do that. |

It's easy to be done, simply download the phpBB2 Plus 1.52 package and read the readme instruction. |

I don't see why it shouldn't work for you. In fact, you can automatically update your phpBB from 2.0.16 to 2.0.17.

waw i'm not alone in this!
I want to convert "phpBB2 Plus 1.5 based 2.0.20" -> "phpbb2 based 2.0.22"
I tried something simple. Installed phpbb2 and only replaced the config files and change in the database the template info.
what i got? -> BIG MESS!!
Will this work on my forum?

Though it has not been tested, there is no reason why it shouldn't work. Make a full backup of everything and begin following the steps of the tutorial.

phpBB2 Plus 1.5 have the Categories hierarchy Mod v2.0.4 installed. The Categories hierarchy mod allows you to create sub categories so you can add forums within them. The phpBB2 Vanila doesn't allow you to do this. Therefore, if you were to convert without doing this, you will not see certain forum because in a way, "they do not exist" (The correct term is that they are hidden under a forum), but the phpBB Vanilla would not understand that, so therefore they will not be displayed. You would then need to go into the database to edit each forum and give them a main category ID so that they can be displayed. That's too much work.

It's very easy, simply go to the ACP and make sure that your forums are as follow.
- Category 1 name
- Forum name
- Forum name
- Forum name
- Etc....
- Category 2 name
- Forum name
- Forum name
- Forum name
- Etc....
If you were to have it like below, then you will have problem if you don't move them
- Category 3 name
- Forum name
+ Forum name
- Forum name
- Etc....
The plus means that the forum serves as a category and there are forums inside of it. So simply go into that subcategory and move all of its forum to either Category 1, 2, or 3 |

Thank you !
Maybe i will try this, but then i will have around 315 forums !!! They are now sorted in categories. (Its a school-forum (University), and all classes have their own subforums)
What can i do then? Install new "Categories hierarchy Mod v2.0.4" on "phpbb vanilla" ? I need categories  |

Yup, that would be the way to go, unless you choose to stay with Plus. |
