Anyone tried adding Chat to their site?

I would like to add a chat room to the site. Has anyone tried this and put a link to the from the forum pages to the chat site.

That seems to talk about one for V1.3 I am using what ever the latest one is. Does it matter?

I have the smartors chat working on plus when I used it long ago. lol

I was trying smartors chat, but it have less possibilities than other one whivh works fine with phpbb2 plus.

Please do explain to me how I was comparing it. I would really like to know how I was. I made a suggestion that's entirely up to him to check out, and I don't believe at any point I was comparing mine to anything. Period.

I've tried all chat-mod for phpbb and i realy did not like anyone... smartor is horrible because it need an refresh every 2 seconds..
pjirc doesn't allow to show who's in the chatroom without an eggdropp and is to complicated for my users!

So I found an alternative: http://www.tufat.com/script.php?id_num=2

It's an awesome flash based chat! Well, it isn't free, but it's worth every Dollar i paid for (only 5 Wink

Why didnt you install phpbbmychat 1.3 it is the same like you give a link, an it is free.

no it isn.. it is a php solution, not in flash.. try it and you see the difference

yes is full customizable! You can set all colors, make your own designs, set the backgroundpicture (if you need, i don't like that), the refresh of the data, administrate rooms, use kick and banns and other things! There are several php scripts included so you can show on your phpBB site who's online and can integrate the loginbox into your phpBB. I'm working on it and will release it when it's done Smile

oh i forgot: there is also a moderated chatmod, it's usefull if you have special guests, because the guest can decide if a question will be announced and can answer on it!
