I've created account with coolfreepages.com, actived mysql, uploaded all the files, made config.php writable, but it seems something else is wrong, when i enter in all the info i get
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
I've done this before on lycos.co.uk and have a working board there, only lycos isnt very user friendly.
This is the info i put in
Default board language: English
Database Type: MySQL 3.X
Choose your installation method: Install
Database Configuration
Database Server Hostname / DSN: localhost
Your Database Name: DB_nac******
Database Username: Username
Database Password: Blank
Prefix for tables in database: phpbb_
Admin Configuration
Admin Email Address: My Email Addy
Domain Name: www.my domain.ionichost.com
Server Port: 80
Script path: /phpBB2/
Administrator Username: Username
Administrator Password: **********
Administrator Password [ Confirm ]: **********
Am i missing something, or need to edit a file? I just need some help in the right direction please  |

Not really, on coolfreepages they specify you a username (ex. nac55555, it is always "nac" followed by numbers) and for the MYSQL Database the Database Name is "DB_" followed by you account username. In my experience it is imposible to install a PHPBB board in coolfreepages. (Not to mention, I wouldn't want to visit one on there either, the pop-ups drive you crazy!) I have tried well over 100 times and can NOT get one installed. |
