[Solved] Email error

Get this error message

Could not connect to smtp host : 13 : Permission denied

and yet have set all smtp details as per intructions from Host! Please can someone tell me where to look for error, as I'm tearing my hair out here looking for an answer!

Have heard from another Board that it may be because the conversion was done twice, there is supposed to be a fix for it somewhere?

Hi,

never heard about that problem. I tried it 1 min ago and it worked perfect with smtp. No error msg and i got the mail that was sent. i just entered the smtp server without any user/pass. Thats all.

Sorry that was to fast for me, you went to my board and sent email?
I have smtp turned off.

Hi,

i tried it in my board, not in yours. Should be the same. It must be something with your smtp server, not with the board.

No Stefan, that's the problem, it's set up exactly the way my Host told me.
It worked no problem, in a testboard I set up to try phpbb2 out with, this was one of the main reasons for moving to phpbb2.
Now it doesn't work any more! I know I made some mistakes in that I have not deleted the testboard out of the database. I converted from YaBB gold sp1. First attempt failed, second worked! All else is running fine no problems otherwise at all Very Happy

. Just my smtp email will not work??? Embarassed

The answer is so simple that I must be an idiot not to have seen it ages ago:
for server had "server- mail ............"
should be "server-mail ............"

Yeah all that because of a F****** space to much Embarassed
