Aha ok, that's what I think, because I was thinking of update a 1.52 version, but there is no chance it is too much code and that's mean a lot of problems.

Hi guys.First time user of this phpbb2 plus and it looked good right up till i tried to update the phpbb2 2.0.20 to 2.0.21 and came across this error...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: attach_setup_basic_auth() in /home/canad420/public_html/includes/auth.php on line 176

I'm not to sure what this error is trying to tell me so please anyone have someinfo or a fix for this?

New phpBB2 Plus 1.53 installed with update for phpbb2 2.0.20 to phpbb2 2.0.21 update nothing eles installed atm.

two choices here

1) make sure your folder directorys are set to the correct chmod settings as instructed in the readme.files

and or then

2) as long as its a simple version update and you have not added any other mods to phpbb2 plus 1.53 v2.0.20, is to simply back up your database, backup your files that you currently have, then update the webfiles with current release, do the update/update_to_latest.php file and you should be in the clear.

actually if your doing a straight update from existing code version phpbb2 plus 1.53 (v2.0.20), then download the full package of phpbb2 plus 1.53a (v2.0.21) and then copy over the files and do the update script and you should be in business.. Which current version are you on again?

phpbb2 plus 1.53 (v2.0.20) ?

if so, the above described should do it for ya. BACK UP ALL YOUR FILES THOUGH BEFORE PROCEEDING and ALSO YOUR DATABASE FILES TOO. if it doesnt work you can always revert back to previous version by replacing the files you backed up.

if so, if you download this package and do the previous post instructions by backing up and then replacing the files with these in this download: http://www.phpbb2.de/dload.php?action=file&file_id=828

and then doing the update_to_latest.php script, you should be in business.

NOW ACTUALLY READING THIS FURTHER, did you run the /update/update_to_latest.php script after doing the updating of files / code changes? if not, do that and see what happens.. BUT BACK UP SQL DB first before proceeding...

you still are getting some odd errors? -- perhpas its the version of PHP version that is running on the host?

it should be higher than php 4.3.7 or higher if IIRC.. my host has 4.4.1 IIRC. my previous host had php 4.2.2 and 1.53 or 1.53a did not work at all.

if you are referring to customizing phpbb2 plus 1.53a, i have done so (using the same color scheme) at the site I am maintain -- www.iesaf.fi/sauna/
- and its pretty straight forward.. a bit nerve racking, but it is doable..

Will you you upgrade this version? you know phpbb.com released new forum versions? so maybe plus 1,53 can hack. we must salve this problem and update or upgrade this version. (for example album mod has a bug, you must fix it)

1.53a is up-to-date with phpbb 2.0.22.
