MS SQL driving me crazy

Hi Folks,

Given the fact that this PHPBB Plus is great, I would like to migrate my actual forum to the plus 1.53 rel.

My forum is based on the phpbb 2.0.20 and runs with MS SQL database.

Looking at the documentation I've noticed that the Plus rel wont work with such db. So, I installed MYSQL 4 (dot something) on my web server (win 2003) and made some migration tests from MS SQL to MYSQL.
After migrating the db and linking the forum to the brand new mysql database I got some errors while posting or replying to a post or thread. It seems that the system does not recognize the user name.
The error message that I got is the following: INSERT INTO phpbb_posts (topic_id, forum_id, poster_id, post_username, post_time, poster_ip, enable_bbcode, enable_html, enable_smilies, enable_sig).............

Where in the post_username place instead of the (guessing) username or user id there are just a couple of quotes ""

Furthemore, after trying to post, if I go back to the forum index insted of the number of posts I find a laconic "no posts". At this stage I go into the admin panel and after syncronizing the forum the number of posts appears again but I am still not able to make any new posts.

Has anyone any ideas or hints or suggestions on how to migrate the db?
(guessing that the problem is over there....)
