Databases problem

Hi to everyone,

Does anyone knows if its possible to upload a blank full version of new phpbb2 and after the instalation completes there is a way to use data and table from an older version of phpbb?

Old version of phpbb is 2.17.

The problem is between databases.There is an confict between the phpbb (2.17) that iam using and the new phpbb2 ( 2.18 ) i try to update the version but it didnt work to me.

I have the 2.17 and id like to make a new install with phpbb2 but without loosing any of my records (users,posts,topics,private massages etc )in the database.

The site im trying to update is www.sport-gate.org/phpforum

You can export those tables from the old database, then import them on the New Database. It's not that hard to do.

i too would love to know how to do this. i've had such a problem with my old bb (was 2.06 with plus 1.3) when trying to update it, that i am starting over from scratch and would love to be able to keep the old posts, calendar, and album information from the old board.

created a new board and upgraded it to v2.019 and am installing plus 1.52 now.
